Match Day Report

Brilliant WIN Zebs, absolutely BRILLIANT !. What an awesome way to finish the season  with just one of the best WINS I have ever seen .ABSOLUTELY AWESOME ZEBS .Feel very proud Zebs , very proud in deed !. This game was very very competitive , contested so very well  by both sides . Our backline in the first was magnificently lead again by big Jakey and The General in Matty Nolan.Our half back flankers and back pockets in Joshy, Becks,Call and Mike were simply superb. With our mid fielders dominating, our forwards Hass,Rocket ,Sammie and  Paynts were getting plenty of the ball with little success . The best was yet to come . Into  the second and with Matty,Liam B and Paynts as leading targets we were in with a real show .Benny banging thru a major , absolutely brilliant goal Benny, and with Paynts banging thru another it was very exciting . With a change in defence and with Joshy playing a ripping game repelling numerous attacks ( awesome 50th game Josh ) Izzy, D.Train and Jack holding sway in the midfield our forward line were getting many forward fifty entrys . With the back line holding firm, Jacko ( comedian of the year ) playing a great game in defence being fiercely helped out by Sammie , great desperation Ragh , and with the elite running from Charlie, Mike ,Xavier and Mitch ( awesome qtr Mitch) we were gaining ascendecy .With our bench down on numbers , the team were magnificient .  With Izz back in the centre and playing yet another awesome game ,along side D Train and Charlie ,the third turned out to be a tug of war .In to the last , and a call from the coach to win for Joshy in his 5oth and Charlie in his last game ,it was heating up. Down by a small margin we were peppering the goals , with Connor in the middle stopping everything that came his way , Jakey ,Matty,Ragh,Mike,Charlie, and Mitch in the back half ,stopping everything that came there way , u guys were just sensational. Absolutely awesome effort defence , just amazing , I kid you not . With the forward fifty flooded and with rocket neally taking the mark of the year and with tall timber up front in Call and Xavier and goal sneek Benny ,it was just time . With the ball coming out from the pocket from D. Train and Izzy  taking a long shot ,the ball sailing  thru from centre half forward , the Zebs were excited . And rightfully so !.Zebs in front after peppering the goal .An enormeous effort by every player, an awesome game of footy to finish the season . An AWESOME win Zebs , absolutely awesome. To win that game , Joshys 50th , Charlie heading over to NZ ,what an amazing game . To the team , we have had another very very good season . Winning the lightening premiership two years ago under Jays guidance was just amazing , to come runners up last year with nine changes was again just amazing .This year ,to perform  so very very well with so many players out thrut the season just tells me , this team , each and every player is very special . Simply an awesome effort .Feel very proud in deed Zebs , very proud in deed .An amazing group of young people with awesome talent .To the new boys in Broderick,Xavier  and Lochie , awesome effort fellas and a wonderful contribution by you all.To Izzy,D.Train,Matty,Has,Paynts,Connor,Joshy,Jakey,Charlie,Jackson, Benny,Adam,Sammie,Jack,Liam B,Liam D,Callum.Owen,Mitch and Mike, THANK YOU . It has been an absolute pleasure in coaching this group in the last two years and being able to watch you all grow as young men and wonderful young lady from your first game together . May this win be the sounding board for next season for you all, in all of your endeavours.May you all be blessed with happy,healthy,bright  and successsful futures. And remember Zebs, " The future opens up for those who continue there discipline and refine them selves ".
