Fun and Development Philosophy

The ZEBS philosophy is one of always ensuring an equal focus is placed on FUN AND DEVELOPMENT.

We want to ensure ALL kids always have fun and enjoy their footy, both at training and in games. While being given the best opportunity to develop their footy, athletic and social skills to suit their own level. While understanding all kids grow and mature at different stages and at different rates, everyone should be given the same opportunity to develop at their rate.

And most importantly we want to develop not just good fun footballers, but good ZEBS PEOPLE.

Technology Development

We believe in using technology for both Fun and Development. This year, many of the home games and some of the training sessions will be filmed, so that we can provide ‘coded’ moments of games and training to use as learning tools for kids to improve. Plus we’ll be adding a fun element by posting fun moments onto the ZEBS website and on social media for all the kids and parents to see.

In 2018 we saw the trail of a few GPS trackers (at older age groups) to review the data analysis and this is an area we have further developed in 2019.

Coach the Coaches Philosophy

We are an all-inclusive family club, we would love for all parents to get involved, have fun and learn about footy with their kids. To ensure that all the kids get as much as they can out off training and on game day, our philosophy is to assist / coach the coaches, the assistant coaches and all the parent helpers so they all can improve their knowledge of training drills and game day logistics. Therefore, whoever is coaching or helping the kids are assured they have knowledgeable and well-resourced mentors.

To assist development we encourage all coaches, assistant coaches and parents to attend the ‘Coach the Coaches’ sessions which commence prior to the season and then another 2 sessions throughout the season.

Plus our Director of Coaching, Tony Pucella is always available to assist anyone plus he rotates around training nights and matches to provide further guidance and assistance.
